James Vance is the Managing Director of Owner’s Engineering at Clearway Energy Group, one of the largest renewable energy companies in the United States. James leads a team that provides energy prediction, independent engineer engagement and financing support, and technology and quality review leadership across solar, wind, battery, and clean-fuel projects. Prior to joining Clearway (previously NRG) in 2016, James led the solar due diligence practice at DNV. James has worked in the renewable energy industry for over 15 years in positions ranging from project development to independent engineering to owner’s engineering - supporting tens of gigawatts of clean energy across hundreds of projects. James lives in the California central coast and holds a materials engineering degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
